EMDR & Trauma


I’m experienced working with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and a wide variety of other emotional and physical traumas that clients have encountered either as children or as adults. I bring a supportive and nonjudgmental presence to my trauma work with you. I’ll first build trust, safety and a deep understanding of how your trauma has impacted your relationships, self-esteem, nervous system and emotional balance. I closely collaborate with you about what will be most helpful in your own healing.

I use a wide variety of contemporary mind/body approaches when treating trauma, including a process known as EMDR therapy, which stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. EMDR therapy is a remarkable and accelerated therapy that has been researched extensively and proven effective in treating large and small traumas. 

My work is increasingly informed by Somatic Experiencing® (SE), a body-awareness approach to trauma developed over 40 years by Dr. Peter Levine. SE is a simple, progressive and profound way of releasing traumatic energy trapped in the nervous system allowing you to experience greater vibrancy and wholeness. I'm a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner in Training and certified in EMDR therapy.
